Ruth A. Eldridge

1942 – 2017

SPRINGFIELD – Ruth A. (Slater) Eldridge, 74, of Williams Street died Monday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  Ruth was born in Westfield, the daughter of the late Ralph and Esther Slater.  She grew up in Huntington and lived in Westfield 30 years before moving to Springfield 28 years ago.  She loved to volunteer at the Bingo games at the YMCA and Senior Center.  Ruth leaves three children, Duane Euber, Richard Eldridge and Esther Hemmings; three grandchildren Mark and Jamie Francis and Christopher Carlson; a great grandson Aiden and two brothers John and Clarence Slater.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Raymond and Ralph Slater.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 1:00pm.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service from noon – 1:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
