Ruth M. "Holly" (Darling) Hastings, 93, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 10, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Holly was born in Woonsocket, RI to the late Walter and Margaret (Hayes) Darling.  She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Home Economics and pursued a life-long interest in that field. Holly married Bartlett Hastings and together they lived in various places through the years before settling in West Springfield in 1979.  They were longtime members of Mitteneague Congregational Church.  Holly is survived by her son Andrew (Stacia) of Westfield, Daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Royalston, grandchildren, Jesse (Christiane) of Greenfield, Matthew of West Springfield and Noel Cherubino-Chemlin of East Haddam, CT, and two great-grandchildren, Leonardo and Massimo of East Haddam CT.  She was predeceased by her husband Bartlett, and sons, Kenneth S. Hastings and Glenn B. Hastings. Calling hours are Sunday from 11am-1pm at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street West Springfield, followed by a service at 1pm.
