Ruth E. LaPlante
1929 – 2015

EAST LONGMEADOW – Ruth E. LaPlante, 85, died Tuesday in a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Springfield and had lived in West Springfield most of her life. She also lived in Westfield, Lumberton, NJ and Hawthorn Woods, IL until moving to East Longmeadow in 2005. She worked as a waitress for Little George's Restaurant for over 25 years. She attended the First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow. Her husband Oral LaPlante died in 2000. She leaves her children David O. LaPlante and his wife Susan of Webster and Debra R. Rondeau and her husband Jeffrey of East Longmeadow; four grandchildren Christopher LaPlante and his wife Margaret, Amy Quinlan and her partner Christopher Angelo, Jeffrey Rondeau Jr., and Linnae Delp and her husband Carl. She also leaves five great grandchildren Jack and Caroline Quinlan, Wesley and Marshall LaPlante and Charlie Delp. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 11:00am followed by burial in Ashleyville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 -7:00pm.
