Obituary

Ruth Marie Skiba, 73, of West Springfield passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 25th at Baystate Medical Center. Ruth was born in Springfield, MA the daughter of the late Arthur Casineau Sr. and Helen (Miller) Casineau. Ruth spent most of her life in West Springfield and
worked there as a crossing guard for many years. She was a parishioner at the former ImmaculateConception Church and volunteered to make hamburger macaroni for their bingo games. Ruth enjoyed going to Misquamicut beach, collecting kitchen linens, meeting B.B. King, playing bingo
with her husband and taking day trips with her family. Ruth took great pride in creating jewelry at the local senior center, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. Ruth leaves behind her beloved husband Paul Sr of 51 years and her two wonderful sons; Paul Jr.
and Richard of West Springfield. She also leaves her brothers; Arthur Casineau Jr. and friend Yvette of West Springfield and Joe (Carol) Casineau of Southwick; and one sister Irene (Jean-Claude) Fra of Agawam, an aunt; May Diemer of Huntington, an uncle: Charles Casineau of Springfield; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service for Ruth will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones on Monday December 16th at 11 am. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service from 10 – 11 am.
