Ruth J. (Sharkus) Werner, 89, died Saturday at home surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Springfield, grew up in East Longmeadow and has lived in Feeding Hills since 1950. She was a retired employee of the former U.S. Envelope Company (now Westvaco) and is a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills. Her husband, Theodore R. Werner died in 1988 and a son, Stephan Werner died in 2007. She leaves three children, Elizabeth Schindler, Ted M. Werner and his wife Martha all of Feeding Hills and Joan Lawson and her husband Paul of Palmer. She also leaves a sister Phyllis Smith and her husband Dennis; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10.
