Samuel D. Pohner

1985 – 2019

Feeding Hills – Samuel D. Pohner, 33, passed away Wednesday in Baystate Medical Center.  Sam was born in Springfield and has lived in Florida, New York, Colorado, California as well as in his native Massachusetts. He was a dedicated electronic musician and played for numerous acts across the US and Europe. His career began at 18 when he won the Jam Cruise contest with partner Mario Treadway aka Souleye. He went on to work with Tigran Mimosa on an a dance music collaboration known as Sexytime and then moved to Brooklyn where he worked and performed his music at the Bossa Nova Club. He leaves his parents Gerald and Holly (Cloran) Pohner; a brother Brendon Pohner; many cousins, and girlfriend Amanda Lemon.  Sam was the grandson of Patricia (Scully) Blakebourough and Brendon E. Cloran and the late William & Erma Pohner; nephew of Mildred Pohner, Patricia and Fred Ushman, the late Mary Ann Pohner, Debra and Doug Cecchini, Jill and Bob Rust and Jeff and Michelle Cloran.
