1940 – 2011

LONGMEADOW – Sandra F. (Clarholm) Gibson, 70, died March 28th in Ft. Myers, Florida. Sandra was born in Daytona Beach, FL, the daughter of the late Oscar and Marian Clarholm. She graduated from Oldfield's School in Glencoe, MD and Garland Junior College in Boston, MA before moving to Longmeadow. She retired as a Medical Records Clerk of Country Estates Nursing Home in Agawam. Prior to that she worked at N.E.O.S. and Shriner's Hospital for Children. A longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, she served for 11 years as the Chairperson of the St. Andrew's Rummage Sale and Meals on Wheels for Longmeadow. She also served as a board member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, East Longmeadow Chapter #74, was a member of the Junior Women's League and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a proud member of the Friday Night Girl's Club and loved playing games, bingo, and "Going South". She was predeceased by her husband Claude Gibson and her brothers Benjamin S. and David H. Tully. She leaves a son Kristian N. Gibson of Boston and a daughter Karen L. Hotaling of Feeding Hills; five grandsons Kramer, Kyle and Kendall Gibson and Paul and Matthew Hotaling. She also leaves her sister-in-laws Diane Tully of Atlanta and Marea Tully of Estero, FL; as well as, dear friends Pat Brown and Jeanne and Richard Lutz. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 11:00am. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00am.
