Shirley M. Ligarski
1926 – 2015

SOUTHWICK – Shirley M. (Finn) Ligarski, 89, a 23-year resident of Southwick passed away on September 21. Shirley was born in Springfield to Paul and Mildred (Mortenson) Finn. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. A longtime resident of East Springfield, Shirley was married to Springfield Police Captain Joseph Ligarski who predeceased her in 1992. Shirley was an accomplished craftswoman and seamstress who enjoyed sharing her many talents with friends and family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, devotion to family and gentle, loving spirit. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Colleen Arena and her husband Mike and Cynthia Santaniello and her husband Paul. She also leaves two loving grandchildren, Eric Arena and Mindi Santaniello Craddock and three great grandchildren, Jack, Ryan and Paul Craddock. In addition, she is survived by her brother Paul Finn, several cousins, nephews and nieces and many dear friends from Rosewood Condos especially Sharon, Dino and Jan with whom she enjoyed countless hours of companionship. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 12:00 Noon followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
