WEST SPRINGFIELD – Shirley E. (Hutchinson) Pike, 83, died Monday in a local nursing home. Shirley was born and educated in Agawam, lived in Springfield before moving to West Springfield in 1968. She was a longtime member of the Mittineague Congregational Church. She took up watercolor painting at a late age and enjoyed taking classes at the West Springfield Senior Center. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and skeet shooting. She leaves her husband of 60 years Richard E. Pike; two sons Kenneth and his wife Brenda of Reedsville, WI and Robert and his wife Martha of Providence, RI and a granddaughter Lisa Pike. The funeral will be held at the Mittineague Congregational Church, Westfield Street, West Springfield on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00am followed by burial in Agawam Center Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
