William H. Lane

West Springfield – SMSGT William H. Lane, USAF retired, died Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at home.  Bill was born in Dillon, South Carolina, son of the late William and Earldean (Britt) Lane.  He grew up in Mallory, SC before moving to West Springfield.  He retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 207, West Springfield,  and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 219, Westfield.  His wife of 48 years Nancy (Green) Lane died Wednesday, March 17, 2021.  She leaves a son Michael S. Lane and his wife Kristine; three granddaughters Kaitlyn, Heather, and Megan; great grandchildren Nelson, Anthony and Tessa; a brother James E. Lane and his wife Linda and many dear friends.  Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by a son William J.
