Sofia Morales Cruz, 92, died peacefully Wednesday at home surrounded by her loving family.  Sofia was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, she came to Massachusetts in 1959, returned to Puerto Rico in 1983 and came back to Springfield in 2018.  She worked at the Reynolds Paper Company and also ran her own restaurant.   Sofia was predeceased by her husband Rafael Torres Martinez.  She leaves her children Luz N. Munoz, Maria "Mimi" Ortiz and her spouse Raul, Elpidio Colon Jr. and his spouse Elena, Jose L. Lopez and his wife Mercedes, her siblings Gabina Morales Cruz and Nereida "Merin" Ramos; fourteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren.  Besides her husband she was predeceased by her children Angel L. Morales, Marialuisa Lopez and Michael Lopez and her siblings Ramon, Catalina, Eladia, Tono, Isabelle and Jose Luis Morales.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 9:00am with Liturgy in Blessed Sacrament Church, Waverly Street, Springfield at 10:00am followed by  burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00pm.
