Obituary

FEEDING HILLS – Stanislaw Rutkowski, 72, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 16, 2021 in Mercy Medical Center.  Born in Poland, son of the late Wladyslaw and Helena (Olszewska) Rutkowski, he came to the United States in 1987.  He lived in West Springfield before moving to Feeding Hills over thirty years ago.  Stanislaw worked as a machine operator for Smith & Wesson, Ampad and Monarch Valve from where he retired in 2015.  He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, boating and was an avid outdoorsman.  He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Basilica in Chicopee and previously was a communicant of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Lukasz Rutkowski in 1998. He leaves his best friend and wife of forty-seven years, Helena (Nowik) Rutkowski, a daughter, Katarzyna "Kasia" Rutkowski of West Springfield, a brother, Josef Rutkowski of Agawam, two sisters, Zosia Duga and Halina Bulatewicz both of West Springfield, and three grandchildren, Lucas, Kaya and Nathan.  The funeral will be Monday at 8:45am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass at 10am at St. Stanislaus Basilica, 566 Front Street followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, all in Chicopee.  Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5pm.
