Stephen Allan Barowsky
1945-2010

AMHERST - Steve Allan Barowsky passed away on December 18, 2010 at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst, Mass. Steve was a gentle and kind person who enjoyed life to its fullest until an accident 40 years ago left him a quadriplegic. Even after his accident, Steve never lost his intellect, sense of humor and compassion. He was an avid and lifelong Yankees fan. Steve graduated from Bucknell University in 1967 with a degree in Marketing, and received his Master's Degree from Northwestern University. He will be deeply missed by his sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and Jimmy Tarr of Hatfield; his niece Rachel Tarr, her husband Michael, and great nieces Isabella and Amalie; and his niece Jillian Robinson, her husband Shawn, and great niece Sofia. Steve was predeceased by his mother and father, Muriel (Michnoff) and Isadore Barowsky. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff of West 2 at the Center for Extended Care and all of the caregivers that Steve had throughout the years for all of the love and care they showed him. There will be a graveside funeral Monday, December 20 at Rodphy Sholom cemetery on Pendleton Ave., Chicopee. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
