Stephen J. Bryda M.D.
1948 - 2015

LOS ANGELES, CA – Stephen J. Bryda M.D., 67 of LOs Angeles died on Monday, November 2nd. Dr. Bryda was born to Theodore and Madeline Bryda on March 15, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts. He leaves behind three siblings: Rita Bonfitto and her husband William of West Springfield, MA, Cynthia Hollman and her husband Richard of Chelmsford, MA and Theodore Bryda Jr. of Springfield, MA, two nieces, Laura Farrell and her husband James of Newton, MA, Sarah Brunson and her husband Timothy of Marlborough, MA and a nephew David Bonfitto and his wife Choummaly of Agawam, MA. Dr. Bryda spent the last several decades of his life running a successful and beloved small internal medicine practice in the heart of Los Angeles, as well as serving as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at St. Vincent Medical Center. He loved his family, and delighted in traveling the world. He took joy in learning and sharing his gifts with everyone he met. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 9:30am with Liturgy in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 – 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
