Stephen J. Koniezhny, 73, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Lahey Clinic. Born in Brooklyn, son of the late Stephen and Jenny (Hartman) Koniezhny, he moved to the Holyoke area in the 1960's and to South Hadley in 1986. Stephen worked for over forty years at Fountain Plating before he retired in 2005. He was active in boating activities at Brunelle's Marina. He was a consummate animal lover, with a special affinity for his cats and a dedicated family man. His wife, Claire A. (Cloutier) Koniezhny died in 2006. He leaves a son, Todd S. Koniezhny of South Hadley, a daughter, Christine C. Koniezhny of Baltimore, MD, and a sister, Sandra Kerr of Waseon, OH. The funeral will be Friday at 10am at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm.
