Obituary

Tammy Jacobson-Landon died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, in her Provincetown, MA home on Wednesday February 20th. Tammy is survived by her loving wife Stephanie, parents Bruce and Marcia Landon of West Springfield, MA, sister Tracey (Kevin) Chrisanthopoulos of Westfield, MA, a niece Anna and nephew Peter Chrisanthopoulos, and nieces Claire and Nora Jacobson of New Prague, MN. She is also survived by her beloved pups Sadie and Gloria. Tammy is preceded in death by her grandparents Norman Landon, Oliver and Jessie Smith and Robert and Lena Oliver, as well as canine companion Chloe.  Tammy was born on November 20th, 1975 in Springfield, MA. She graduated from Elms College, Chicopee, MA, in 1998 with a bachelors' in English. Tammy was married to her best friend, Stephanie, on September 18th, 2005 on the Cape in Yarmouth, MA. Tammy began her career as an editor/writer for Turley Publications, but it was her time at the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech where she was able to put her passion for writing to a greater use as a grant writer. Besides her proclivity for writing, Tammy was also an impassioned painter, lived to spend time with family, friends, nieces and nephew and loved traveling with her beloved Stephanie. Tammy and Stephanie's most special place to be was P-Town, falling in love not only with the town, but becoming one with it's warm and generous people. Most of all though, Tammy was a loving, caring and compassionate person. A friend of many, but "family" to everyone she knew. Tammy's wish in death was not that we weep. Rather, as she wrote herself, "we let this serve as a spark that creates an everlasting flame - a burning passion for you to love fiercely each day".  A celebration of Tammy's life is planned for March 3rd 1:00-5:00 at the Springfield Country Club in West Springfield, MA. Per Tammy's wishes; in lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. https://donate.clarkeschools.org/give/217360/#!/donation/checkout
