Tarry Glenn Pulliam, Sr. 91, of Springfield, Massachusetts, departed this life on December 5, 2012, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born in Oxford, North Carolina on February 18, 1921 to the late James and Sannie Bell (Finley) Pulliam of Oxford, North Carolina. Beatrice L. Pulliam, his loving wife of fifty-five years, and two sisters, Lena Pulliam and Rosa B. Lewis, predeceased him. Mr. Pulliam was educated in North Carolina and retired from Enfield Ford in 2006.
Mr. Pulliam, also known as Uncle Bo and Break-Break, is survived by two sons, Tarry G. Pulliam, Jr. of Flint, Michigan and Retired U.S. Naval Chief David E. Pulliam of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Diane Y. Spriggs, Robin Pulliam and Beverlyn A. Pulliam of Springfield; two sisters, Marjorie Harris (Wesley Harris) of Central Islip New York and Barbara Jean Lias of Brooklyn, New York; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Broome of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; two god-children and many nieces and nephews, all to mourn his loss.
Mr. Pulliam served as a Deacon and was the Treasurer of the United Holiness Church of America for many years. He was also an avid gardener, enjoyed working in his yard and loved his family. Our father was a God Fearing person. He believed and accepted God at an early age. He was a trooper. He fought the good fight and he is now at peace.
