October 14, 1956 – April 22, 2024
Thomas A. Misischia, 67, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Agawam, son of the late Pasquale and Irene (McCarthy) Misischia, he lived in Agawam, Westfield, and Southwick before moving to West Springfield in 1985. He was a 1974 graduate of Westfield High School. Tom worked for twenty years at Hallmark, fifteen years at Six Flags and he also spent time outdoors working with the Lapinski Family landscaping. He was an outdoors enthusiast enjoying camping, fishing, hunting, and New England sports; except the Patriots. He was also a lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins and a member of the West Springfield Lodge of Elks and the Agawam Fish and Game Club. Dad loved fiercely, fought valiantly and now he can rest peacefully. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Misischia in 2009 and a brother, Pasquale Misischia in 2008. He leaves his daughters, Malinda C. and her husband John Shean and their daughters, Nora and Claire of Salem, OH, Jeanna M. Misischia and her partner Antoine Morgan of West Springfield, two brothers and their wives, Michael and Janet Misischia of Weston, ME, Joseph and Rose Misischia of Agawam, his former wife, Laurie A. Cassidy and her husband Raymond Barbieri of West Springfield, and aunts, cousins, and many nieces and nephews, including his nephews who he thought of as sons, Adam (Jordan), Michael (Melyssa) and Matthew and finally he leaves several cherished friends. The funeral will be Friday at 12noon at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street. The burial in Paucatuck Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm and Friday prior to the service from 11am-12noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Springfield Park & Recreation, 26 Central Street, West Springfield, MA 01089 or the Halfway Home Cat Rescue, Inc. Box 614, Chicopee, MA 01021.
