CHICOPEE – Thomas E. Murphy, Sr., age 79, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center with his family by his side.  He was born on April 29, 1942 to the late John and Jennie (Mastroianni) Murphy.  He grew up in West Springfield and graduated from Springfield Trade High School in 1961.  He worked at the former Buxton and retired from Titeflex in 2008.  Tom loved all things outdoors, especially fishing.  His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.  He was best known by everyone for his "World Famous Brownies." He leaves his loving children, Laurie Fadel (Youssef), Tommy Murphy (Vicki), Lisa Ricardo (Pedro), Heather Murphy, Meaghan Murphy and five grandchildren, Brandon, Jack, Alyssa, Christian and Shea.  Tom also leaves his wife Dolores Murphy, sister/brother-in laws, Paula Murphy, Albert Bergeron, Debbie and Bill Johnson along with nieces, nephews and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Bronner and a brother, John Murphy. Calling hours will be Friday from 10-11am at West Springfield Curran Jones, 109 Main Street, followed by a service at 11am.  The burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.
