WEST SPRINGFIELD-Thomas J. Murray, 62, died Saturday at home. He was born in Springfield and lived in West Springfield all his life. He worked for the West Springfield Water Department and was a member of the VFW and a life member of the DAV. He was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps for four years during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his wife Candace Childs in 1993. He leaves two sons, Brendon Murray of Feeding Hills and Brian Murray of West Springfield, two daughters, Allison and Ashley Murray of West Springfield,his partner Darlene Denny, four brothers, Michael, William and Daniel of West Springfield and Timothy of Fredericksburg, VA and four sisters, Sheila Stevens of Pittsfield, Mary Ellen Giroux of Westfield, Patty Suchicwiecz of Chesterfield and Noreen Thayer of Holyoke and a granddaughter Grace. He was predeceased by a brother James Murray. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 am from West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in St. Frances Church at 10 am. Burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
