Timothy A. Slate

2007 – 2024

Westfield, MA – Timothy Andrew Slate, 17, tragically passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Born in Springfield on June 1, 2007, he was the beloved son of Michael and Leslie (Lattanzio) Slate. Timmy attended St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School in West Springfield, South Middle School in Westfield, and had just completed his junior year at Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton.

Timmy was truly one-of-a-kind, known for his zest for life and his ability to make friends effortlessly.  Always on the go, he had a remarkable talent for engaging in conversations with anyone.

Tim would never hesitate to lend a helping hand and consistently put others' needs before his own. His selflessness and generosity were evident in every aspect of his life, making him a cherished friend to many.

Fearless and full of energy, Timmy loved trucks, skiing, soccer, cooking, travel, music, and had a particular fondness for his work boots and hats.  He was thrilled to start working as a mechanic in a diesel repair shop, a job he eagerly looked forward to.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved parents Michael and Leslie Slate, his brothers Michael and Matthew Slate; paternal grandparents Roger and Carol Slate, Uncle Kenny and Aunt Janet Rich and their son Brian of Concord, MA, Aunt Laura and her wife Karen Lattanzio of Queen Creek, AZ, Uncle Walter and Aunt Cynthia Olecnhy and their daughters Rachel, Stephanie and Sabrina of Suffield, CT, and Uncle Steve and his partner Greg Turner of New York City.  Sadly, Timothy was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Fred and Joan Lattanzio and his beloved dog Snowball.

Calling hours will be held at the Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Road, Westfield, MA on Saturday, July 27th starting at 2:00pm with a Celebration-of-Life beginning at 4:00pm.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
