Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Toufic "Billy" Yacteen. Toufic immigrated from Lebanon in 1950 as a teenager. He married and raised five children with his beloved wife, Nawal. He lived in Springfield and moved to Agawam in 1970, where he raised his family until he passed. Toufic worked as a proud donut maker at Donut Dip for several decades and reveled in his skills. Toufic was known for his kindness and charm and his engaging smile. He was very active and was a beloved member of the YMCA for over 30 years. Toufic was also a man of deep faith and an early supporter of the Mosque in West Springfield. He exhibited his faith through quiet actions, including bringing donuts to the Shriners kids and to the Hobby Club weekly for many years. Toufic is survived by his beloved children, Ilham, Al, Abe, Nadim and Amal as well as his eleven beloved grandchildren. Calling hours will be held Saturday March 14th from 12:00 – 3:00pm at the Red Rose Pizzeria in Springfield. Billy always told people that he would pray for them, so we please ask you to pray for him.
