Vanessa A. Walker

Hadley – Vanessa A. Walker, 62, died peacefully Thursday evening in a local nursing home.  Vanessa was born in Griffin, GA, grew up in Holyoke and has lived in Hadley for the past 7 years.  She started her career as a counselor at Hampshire College and more recently served as a counselor for special needs children at CHD Meadow House.  She leaves a son David; her mother Betty (Ponder) Walker; a brother Christopher Walker and his wife Parthena; a sister Judy Jones and two grandchildren David James "DJ" Walker and Leah Paquette.  She was predeceased by two sisters Lawanda Walker and Donnell Manghem.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
