Victor D. Govoni Jr.

1937 – 2019

AGAWAM – Victor D. Govoni Jr., 82, died peacefully Sunday morning surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, Victor was the son of the late Victor and Sebastiana (née Samperi) Govoni Sr.; he grew up in West Springfield and has lived in Agawam for the past 50 years. Victor received his bachelor's degree from Norwich University and worked as an insurance adjuster while attending Western New England College to earn his Law Degree; his law practice has been based on Elm Street in West Springfield for the past 45 years. An active member of the Dante Club, where he was "captain" of many racquetball teams, he enjoyed all things outdoors including golfing and landscaping his yard and gardens. Though what he truly enjoyed most of all was spending time with family and friends. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Judith (née Brown) Govoni; two sons: Michael, his wife Lisa; Jeffery, his wife Tami; his sister Shirley Marcinek; four grandchildren: Nicholas, Kaley, Samantha, and Chloe as well as two great-grandchildren: Nicolas and Leo. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on October 3rd from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Dante Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dakin Humane Society and/or the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center.
