Violet Pettit

1934 – 2018

West Springfield – Violet (Harrison) Pettit, 83, died Thursday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  Violet was born and raised in West Springfield, owned a home on Bosworth Street and was a longtime member of the former First United Methodist Church.  An office manager for Greenough Paper Company, she also worked part-time at Macy's Department Store at the Holyoke Mall.  She was a Boy & Girl Scout Leader and former president of the Memorial School P.T.A.  She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Pettit and son Kenneth S. Adams.  She leaves two daughters Colleen Adams-Jalbert and Christine Serra; sisters Mary Mason and Janet Fuller; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Sadly, her sister Florence Jianaces died last week, and she lost her beloved canine companion Molly.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday 4:00 – 7:00pm.  Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
