Virginia M. Barba

1941 – 2016

West Springfield – Virginia M. (Barker) Barba, 74, died Wednesday evening at home surrounded by her large and loving family.  Virginia was born and raised in Oswego, New York and lived in Waynesville, Missouri most of her life before moving to West Springfield five years ago.  Her husband Stanley Barba died in 1984.  She leaves her children Alice Scharmidal, Virginia Auckerman, Stanley Barba, Richard Barba, Henry Barba, Lani Fuentes, Carol Rice and Sueann Barba.  She also leaves two brothers Fred and David Barker, three sisters Norma Perez, Liz Velez and Joan Ann Alverdo; sixteen grandchildren and many many great grandchildren.  Besides her husband Virginia was predeceased by her siblings Norman Barker, Mildred Slaver, Lona Rivera, Mary Jane Dashanu, Janice Colon and Isabella Guzman and two grandchildren Christina Woods and Kai Scharmidal.  A private funeral will be held with burial in Waynesville.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
