Virginia Catchepaugh

AGAWAM – Virginia (Richings) Catchepaugh died Tuesday, October 10, in Heritage Hall. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Virginia was born in Springfield and has lived in Agawam for most of her life. She was a retired nurse's aide who belonged to the Agawam Baptist Church and the Agawam Legion Auxiliary. Virginia loved to paint and was an avid reader who loved science fiction. In her later years she was a fixture at Figures and Fitness in Feeding Hills, where, despite her arthritis, she attended pool aerobics classes three times a week. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1989. She leaves a daughter Vicki Webber and her husband Philip of Grantham, NH, a son Leigh Catchepaugh and his fiancée Colette Nichols of Agawam, her brother Stanley Richings of Maydelle, TX, two grandchildren: Benjamin Webber and his wife Yael and Elizabeth Webber, one great grandson, the light of her life, Ben and Yael's son, Avi, and her good friend and caretaker, Julius Kitchen. The funeral will be Monday at 11 am at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in Agawam Center Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 4-7 pm.
