West Springfield, MA – Virginia "Jean" G. Taylor, 86, passed away Thursday, 3/17/16, at 3pm in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving daughter and granddaughter. Jean was born in Reading, PA, the daughter of Richard and Grace (Klopp) Peterson. She lived in Reading most of her life, moving to West Springfield 10 years ago. Jean loved her family, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Jean thought her greatest legacy was her family. Her kindness and generosity were unmatched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Taylor, who died in 1996. She leaves a daughter, Georgene Goodwin and her husband, William, of West Springfield. She also leaves two grandchildren; Severn Goodwin and his fiancé, Debra Schehr of Housatonic, MA and Kate Barkman and her husband, David, along with their two children, David and Gavin Barkman, also of West Springfield. A private service will be held with a burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading, PA. There are no calling hours. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
