Vlasta I. Horacek

FEEDING HILLS – Vlasta I. (Hlavac) Horacek, 91, died Monday in a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family. Vlasta was born in Springfield, raised in West Springfield and has lived in Feeding Hills since 1960. She worked as a bookkeeper for Sears & Roebuck for many years before retiring from the former Colby Company. Her husband William Horacek died in 1992. She leaves four children and their spouses Robert and Sharon Horacek of Southwick, Sherry and David Kreps, of Agawam, Ellen and Rick Sousa of Portsmouth, R.I., Dean and Joanne Horacek of Southwick; four grandchildren Robert Horacek and his wife Cynthia, Mark Horacek, David Kreps and his fiancé Tiffany, and Olivia Horacek; two great granddaughters Ilona and Isabella; four step grandchildren Phillip Sampson and his wife Adriana, Melanie Pokora and her husband Nicholas, Jessica and Schuyler Sousa and three step great grandchildren Emma, Scarlett and Maisy. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday July 1, 2016 at Noon followed by burial in the Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery.
