Wayne M. Charette, Jr. "CJ", 44, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, he was a lifelong resident of Agawam and a 1995 graduate of Agawam High School. After graduation, CJ joined the Coast Guard, where he trained as a mechanic and Firefighter. After his time in the service, he worked as a Chemical Technician and Firefighter at Eastman Chemical Company in Indian Orchard. CJ was a loving and committed father who enjoyed working on cars, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He leaves two daughters, Genevieve Charette of Agawam, Payton Charette of West Springfield, his mother and her husband, Marline and Robert Claremont of Feeding Hills, his father, Wayne M. Charette, Sr., of Agawam, his sister, Nicole Coyer, and niece, Rhea Coyer of Agawam, and his maternal grandmother, Dolores Blier of Agawam. The funeral will be Friday at 9 am from the Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield, with a Mass at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church on Main Street in Agawam. The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7 pm.
