Wilbur Lewis "Will" Howes, 92, of West Springfield, MA departed this life peacefully on December 7, 2022 in West Springfield. Born in Ludlow, MA on June 18, 1930, he was the son of Robert C. Howes and Isabel (Burgess) Howes. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Leta (Ray) in 2017, his siblings Richard in 1988, Jane Godin in 2008, Bernice Forslund in 2010, and Paul in 2019.  He graduated from Ludlow High School in 1948 and enlisted in the US Navy, where he proudly served for 20 years.  After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the Benway Corp. and the Darcy Company, retiring in 1995.  He enjoyed working on his 1931 Model A, their lake house in Shutesbury, MA, taking care of their lawn in West Springfield, and being season ticket holders to the Springfield Indians/Springfield Falcons hockey teams.  He and Leta also enjoyed their many trips to Hawaii and Cape Cod.  He is survived by daughters Susan Noyes (James) of Ponte Vedra, FL, Ruth of West Springfield, Cynthia (James) of Chester, VT, and Deborah Bodurtha (James) of West Springfield, grandchildren Michael Bocchino (Jennifer) of MN, Matthew Bocchino (Sarah) of FL, Tyler Noyes (Jessica) of VT, John Kalagher (Sarah) of ME, Daniel Kalagher (Tara) of CA, Kevin Bodurtha (Nidhi) of RI, and his great-grandchildren Lucas, Madison, Julia, Emma, Charles, Amelia, Norman, Barrett, Peyton, Rylee, Diana, and Henry, his sister Beatrice Howe of Ludlow, MA and brother Robert (Carole) of Poway, CA, and many nieces and nephews. His daughters would like to thank Visiting Angels, especially Rebecca, Angel, Ayesha, Sherly, and Natalie, and Donna from Baystate Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to their father.  Funeral services will be held privately.  There will be no calling hours.  The West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made by mail to Fleet Reserve Association, C/O FRA Veterans Service Foundation in memory of Wilbur Howes, 125 N.
