Obituary

Wilfred A. "Bill" Merullo, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 16, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in South Hadley, son of the late Mario and Yvonne (Galipeau) Merullo, he moved to Granby in 1968. Bill was a retired police officer for the Town of Granby, with over twenty-five years of service. He was a graduate of Anna Maria College in Paxton, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He was a member of the National Brotherhood of Police Officers and a DARE and School Safety Officer. Bill was also a member of the Chicopee Knights of Columbus # 4022 and a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He leaves his wife of almost fifty years, Carol A. (Wright) Merullo, a son and his wife, Eric C. and Jennifer Merullo of Belchertown, a daughter and her husband, Pamela A. and Anthony Stevens of Granby, six grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, Nicholas, Abigail, Melody and Meghan and various nieces and nephews. Bill's family would like to offer a special thanks to Tom and Joyce Carriveau of Granby and Dave Daly of South Hadley. The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street with a Mass in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10. The burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8pm. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Granby Police Relief Association, 259A East State Street, Granby, MA 01033.
