FEEDING HILLS – William Benerakis, 88, of Shoemaker Lane died Saturday at home. William was born in Springfield, grew up in West Springfield and Springfield before moving to Feeding Hills in 1961. He was a Machine Tool Designer for Smith & Wesson, Hamilton Standard, Colt Firearm, and Spaulding before retiring in 1990 from the former Digital Corporation in Westfield. He served in Belgium with the S.O.S. Division of the United States Army during World War II. He leaves his wife Judith A. (Jenkins) Benerakis; a son Jon Benerakis of Feeding Hills, a daughter Melissa Benerakis of Springfield; a brother Antonio of Feeding Hills; and a sister Stella Wilhelmi of Granby. He was predeceased by a brother James. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 11:00am followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Veteran's Association, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
