Frangie
October 21, 1936 – July 8, 2025
William Joseph Frangie
1936 - 2025
William "Billy" Joseph Frangie passed away on July 8, 2025 at the age of 88. Billy's parents were Rose and Joseph Frangie. Billy was the youngest of their four children. His siblings are Dorothy, Frederick and Simon. He lived all of his life in Springfield Massachusetts area. Billy began his life-long electrician passion, following his graduation from Springfield Trade School. His electrician career was interrupted, when he served his country in the US Army in Germany. Following his honorable discharge from the US Army, Billy continued to progress in his career as an electrician to the point that he began his own business and was well-known in the Springfield community for his superb work; highlighted by being certified as a Master Electrician. Billy also exhibited skills in carpentry, plumbing and car mechanic. Internal to this soft-spoken and unassuming man was a brilliant mind. Billy's inquisitiveness and thirst for knowledge led to a life-long experience of continuous learning. At an early-age and through adulthood friends gravitated to Billy, just to learn from him and he was simply a joy to be around. Known as Billy to most people, his family and close friends called him "Boby," a nickname that he received as a toddler for trying to pronounce "Billy." Billy loved most being with his family and was a loving son, brother, uncle; as well as a friend, mentor and father-like figure to others. Billy is pre-deceased by his parents, and brother Simon Frangie. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Voth (Frangie), his brother Frederick Frangie and his sister-in-law Maryclaire Frangie. Billy leaves his nieces, Rosemary (Romenius) Kallail and her husband James Kallail, Julie (Frangie) Cassaboom and her husband John and Mary Teresa (Frangie) Stratton and her husband Adrian. Billy also leaves his nephews William Romenius and his wife Brenda, Thomas Romenius, John Frangie, Frederick Frangie and his wife Debbie, Peter Frangie and his wife Jill and Mathew Frangie and his wife Michele. Additionally, Billy leaves both many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Billy is beloved and remembered dearly by family and those that he mentored, all of whom feel a loss: from his passing and of his ever-present wry sense of humor and commentary on everyday events. Billy's call to glory is a loss to us on earth, but a blessing and gift to those above! A private ceremony will be held.
