William E.
Frizzell
July 6, 1925 – May 2, 2018
William E. Frizzell , 92, passed peacefully among family on May 2, 2018. He was the loving husband of 66 years to Jane (Bruce). Born in Attleboro, MA, Bill was the son of the late William S. and Ada (Gould). After graduating from Attleboro High School in 1943, Bill served his country proudly in Italy until 1946 as a member of the 91 st Infantry Division, Fifth Army, 4 th Corps Headquarters. Bill maintained close relationships with his friends from the service, traveling with Jane throughout the country, vacationing and attending reunions together well into their 70s. Bill spent his early post-war years as a licensed electrician, and was recruited by Massachusetts Electric, where he was promoted to and worked in commercial sales until his retirement in 1991 after 37 years with the company. Bill never wanted more than he had, and what he had, he shared with everyone. That approach to life – a generous, patient nature and a quiet sense of humor - gained him respect and admiration from all he encountered in his life: through his devotion to his family, his commitment on the ball field coaching his sons, as member of the Lions Club, his 'perseverance' on the golf course, his loyalty as a friend, in the many ways he always 'showed up.' He is survived by his wife Jane; two sons: Peter A. of Cedar Key, FL and William B. of Martha's Vineyard, MA; daughter Jayne A. Mercier and her husband Mitchell of Granby, MA; and two grand-children: Emma Frizzell of Boston. MA and Joshua Potter of Martha's Vineyard, MA; and many extended family and friends. There are no calling hours; but all who wish to attend are welcome at a service of remembrance to be held graveside at 12:00 noon at Newell Burial Ground, South Attleboro, MA on Monday, May, 7. Memorial donations may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association or to the Soldier's Home of Holyoke, MA, who provided such kind and attentive care to Bill in the last month of his life. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. For more details please go to curranobrien.com.
