William P. Hershowitz
1940-2012
FEEDING HILLS-William P. Hershowitz, 71, died Wednesday in Heritage Hall West. He was born in Springfield and has lived in Feeding Hills for 45 years. William worked as a correctional officer for the State of Connecticut, retiring in 1989. He later worked as a custodian for the Woodland School in Southwick. He leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Eileen (Kane) Hershowitz, a son Steven Hershowitz and his wife Lisa of Palmer, two daughters Amy Duquette and her husband David of Agawam and Karen Hershowitz of West Springfield, a brother David Hershowitz and his wife Bonnie of West Springfield and five grandchildren, Zachary, Evan and Grace Hershowitz and Corey and Megan Duquette. The funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 am. Burial in Springfield Street Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, 627 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
