WESTFIELD – William I. Rhodes, 80, died Sunday in a local nursing home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born and raised in Springfield, graduated from Agawam High School and has lived in Westfield for the past 53 years. He was a retired production manager for WGBY in Springfield and was a Mason and Shiner belonging to the Mt. Orthodox Lodge. Bill also served with the U.S. Army Reserves. He leaves his wife Marilyn (Mattson) Rhodes; five children William Jr. (Harriet), Mark (Tracy), Scott (Connie), Julia Edwards (Bert) and Katherine Hibert (John); a brother Glenn; ten grandchildren Caitlyn, Jared, Jordan, Kristina, Stephanie, Alex, Morgan, Shawn, Elizabeth and Abigail and six great grandchildren. There will be a private memorial service for the family. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements and memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Noble Hospice.
