Winthrop H. Stowers

December 3, 1940 – December 20, 2021

Springfield – Winthrop H. Stowers, 81, died peacefully Monday morning December 20, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center.  Winthrop (affectionately known as "Boomer") was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of the late Winthrop and Katharine (Connors) Stowers.  He was self-employed and worked in the construction business for most of his life.  He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen F. (Donahue) Stowers.  He leaves his sisters Shirley (McCarthy) Keeler, Beatrice McCarthy and her husband Jerome, brothers Charles Stowers and his wife Jean, Donald Stowers and his wife Shirley, and Martin Stowers. He also leaves behind his beloved cat Goldie. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Cowles and her husband Bruce, and his brother Richard Stowers. He also leaves many nieces and nephews to grieve his passing.  A private funeral will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield at the convenience of the family.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  For more information, please visit curranjones.com .  Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Rescue Mission.
