Yvon Joseph Rodrigue, 84, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2019. Yvon was born September 15th, 1934 to Leonidas and Juliet Rodrigue from St. Prosper, Quebec. He was a loving husband to his wife Pierrette and a devoted father to his three children, Robert and his wife Frances, Maureen and her husband Frank and Nancy and her husband Michael. His grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Matthew, Melissa, Nicole, Jonathan, Kala, Alys, Treh, Jena and great grandchildren London, Tyson, Emma and Lily always put a smile on his face. He leaves his siblings Nolin, Colette, Suzanne, Lily, Monique, Danielle and Linda. He was predeceased by his siblings Carmen and Paule. Yvon "Frenchy" was passionate about fishing, hunting, hockey, (Montreal Canadians) and carpentry. He came to the United States back in the 1960s to make a better life for himself and worked alongside his best friend Jules Drapeau who predeceased him. He learned the English language on his own and was proud to be a United States citizen. He met his beautiful bride Pierrette in Canada and they started their lives together in South Hadley, MA where they've been married for 57 years. He was employed at Brown Paper Company and James River Graphics. Yvon prided himself in teaching us the importance of having a strong work ethic. Even though dementia stole his mind…it didn't take his ability to say…"LoveYou"…words we will always hold dear. The funeral will be Tuesday February 5th starting with a calling hour at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by a funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 11 am.
