West Springfield-Roberta E. (Gasteyer) DeMarco, 74, died Saturday at home with her daughter Robbie at her side. She was born Aug. 3, 1940 in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of West Springfield. She held many jobs as a waitress at some of the best local restaurants, Monte Carlo, Vincent Steak House and Mountain Laurel to name a few. She cared for her parents as they aged and later became a certified home health aide. This led her to work for many agencies, nursing homes and later at her own business. She leaves her daughter Roberta "Robbie" DeMarco of West Springfield, her son Ronald A. DeMarco of Feeding Hills, her beloved pets, Tiny Bubbles, Molly and Lizzie, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Rose Gasteyer of Feeding Hills, ex-husband Ronald DeMarco and his wife Barbara, nieces, nephews and Noreen Landes who faithfully visited weekly. She was predeceased by her parents George and Roberta Gasteyer. Robbie would like to thank all of Roberta's caregivers who helped make it possible for her to stay at home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
